This book contains many favorite Aesop's fables written for children to read beginning at the end of first grade. It is a part of the A Beka Book Reading Program. the eighth reading book for first grade. Among many favorites just to name a few, are:
"The Lion and the Mouse", "The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs", "The Ants and the Crazy Grasshoppers", "The City Mouse and the Country Mouse".

Also included in the book is a character guide to the themes of the 55 fables, word practice pages, and reading comprehension exercises. This is a wonderful book for beginning readers.
